Canadian owned, Canadian hosted, and it stays here.

Sovereignty is not a badge we added to a pricing page. It is the shape of the company: Canadian ownership, a Toronto building, Canadian law, and an invoice in Canadian dollars.

Canada

What data residency actually decides

Residency is usually sold as a map pin, but the pin is the smaller half of it. Two things determine who can reach your data: where the disks are, and which country's courts can compel the company holding them. A foreign provider with a Canadian region satisfies the first and not the second. We satisfy both, because the disks are in Toronto and the company that owns them answers to Canada.

That is the whole claim. We are not going to dress it up as a certification we do not hold, and if your auditor needs something specific in writing, ask us and you will get a straight answer about what exists today.

  • Your data stays in Canada

Hosted in Toronto, on hardware we operate ourselves. Nothing is quietly replicated to a foreign region to save us money, and there is no second country in the diagram.

  • Privacy by construction

We keep your data, and ours, out of third-party trackers and analytics pipelines. There is no advertising business behind this company that would benefit from reading your traffic.

  • We run on what we sell

Our own business runs on the same network, the same power and the same machines you would be buying. That is the proof, and it is why an outage is our problem before it is yours.

Residency, PIPEDA, and the honest limits

Where is my data physically stored?

In our Toronto facility, on infrastructure we operate. Not a region code in a console: a building in this city, with staff who can walk to your cabinet, and which you are welcome to come and see.

Is QILAK actually Canadian, or just Canadian branded?

Canadian owned and Canadian operated, registered in Canada under business number 1001635924. Ownership is the part that decides the outcome: it determines whose courts can compel the company holding your data to produce it.

Does hosting here make me PIPEDA compliant?

It removes the hardest part of the question, which is handing personal information to a provider governed by foreign law. It does not finish the job. How you collect, use, retain and safeguard that information stays your responsibility, and no hosting provider can do that part for you.

Can my data still leave the country?

Only if you send it. We do not copy it abroad. What crosses the border is what your application crosses it with: a third-party API you call, a CDN you put in front, a backup you ship somewhere else. Tell us what you are running and we will show you where those edges are.

Is the billing Canadian too?

Invoiced in Canadian dollars. No exchange rate moving your monthly cost around and no US dollar statement to reconcile at the end of the quarter.

Is Canadian routing part of this, or only Canadian storage?

Both matter, and we do both. We are peered at TorIX with multiple uplinks on 10 Gb networks, so traffic between us and other Canadian networks hands off in Toronto rather than touring a foreign exchange first.

Tell us what you are running.

Bring us the awkward version: the legacy box, the half-finished migration, the thing that has to stay up. We will tell you honestly whether we are the right fit.
